What does a dental technician do?
A dental technician designs and manufactures dental appliances such as crowns, bridges, dentures, and mouthguards based on a dentist’s prescription.
Do I need a referral from a dentist?
For most dental appliances like crowns or dentures, you will need a dentist’s prescription.
Are you registered with the GDC?
Yes. All practicing dental technicians in the UK must be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC). Cian is fully qualified and GDC-registered.
How long does it take to make a dental appliance?
Dentures, crowns, or bridges usually take 1–2 weeks depending on complexity and materials.
What materials do you use?
Cian uses high-quality dental-grade materials such as acrylics for dentures, and ceramics or metal alloys for crowns and bridges.
Do you offer repairs or adjustments?
Yes. Cian can repair cracked or worn appliances and adjust fit if needed. For clinical devices, adjustments may require dentist involvement.
How should I care for my dental appliance?
Clean daily with a soft brush and non-abrasive cleaner.
Store in a ventilated case.
Avoid heat and biting pressure that could deform the appliance.
Is your work covered by warranty?
Yes. Most appliances come with a limited warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship. Damage from misuse or wear-and-tear is not covered.
